The Choc Doc receives 5 awards for 2013

This year The Choc Doc submitted six different chocolates for awards considerations with three being considered from his “Chocoddity 2012″ range by the Great Taste Awards judging panels, and another three from his Signature Range were submitted to the Taste of the West awards.

The Great Taste Awards is a national food judging competition with many of the judges consisting of top chefs and food critics in a vast array of artisan food and drink, celebrating the finest quality of food. This year (2013) The Choc Doc was awarded a GOLD star for both his “Spice Orange & Olive Oil” and “Pink Peppercorn Praline” chocolates. The third chocolate received very positive reviews with suggestions that have been since taken on board, on how to improve the flavour in order to make it award-worthy.

The Taste of the West awards are another annual award covering the regions including Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucester, Somerset & Wiltshire. The Choc Doc submitted three chocolates for consideration from his Signature Range and all three were deemed worthy of awards! Early Grey Tea and Gianduja Ganache both won Bronze while Tahitian Vanilla won Silver award – the highest award given in this class (Chocolate). Furthermore, The Choc Doc was the most awarded chocolatier in this class.

The Choc Doc Receives 2 Great Taste GOLD Awards

The Great Taste Awards (GTA) is the most prestigious annual speciality food awards in the UK run by the Guild of Fine Food. It has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the Food World and the ‘Epicurean equivalent of the Booker Prize’. Over 350 judges, consisting of celebrity chefs, top restaurant owners, food critics and other food industry experts taste in excess of 8500 foods and 16 separate judges must unanimously agree a product tastes great and is worthy of an award. Only then is a coveted GOLD awards handed out.

This year is the first time The Choc Doc has entered the GTA awards and so only a few chocolates were entered. However, The Choc Doc is delighted to announce that two of the Signature Range chocolates were awarded GOLD one-star awards. These chocolates were the Sea Salted Caramel and the 10-year old Single Malt Whisky. Thanks to everyone who has supported The Choc Doc and allowed the belief in the products to result in these prestigious awards!
